Concept & Prototyping

We model the expensive idea before you commit to it — finding what breaks and killing the concepts that were never going to work.

Service Overview

Most of the expensive mistakes in a capital project are made before anybody has spent a dollar. They just are not discovered until later. We model the concept first — quickly, cheaply, and with no major capital commitment — so the ideas that were never going to work get found out early, and the one that does gets the funding it deserves.

What We Deliver:

Concept Modelling & Feasibility

Your idea, at whatever stage it currently exists, turned into a working 3D model fast enough to be useful while the decision is still open. Sketches, napkins, vendor brochures and half-formed intentions all work as a starting point. You do not need a design in order to get one.

Rapid Iteration & Alternatives

Multiple concepts developed, compared and stress-tested against the same criteria in parallel. The trade-offs between cost, throughput, footprint and complexity become visible early, while changing your mind is still free and before anybody has fallen in love with an answer.

Custom Machine & Equipment Design

Purpose-built EOATs, machines, cells, jigs and equipment taken from a functional requirement to a modelled, simulated concept. When a standard machine does not exist for the job you need done, this is where the one that does gets designed and proven.

Prototype Development Support

Digital concepts carried through to physical prototypes, with the modelling, the drawings and the simulation done first — so the prototype you actually build is the one worth building, rather than your third attempt at getting there.

Rush Turnaround

Where a decision genuinely cannot wait, concept work can be turned around in as little as twenty-four hours. Not every project needs it. When a vendor deadline or a board meeting is the binding constraint, it changes what is possible.

Value We Create:

Zero Capital At Risk To Find Out

Testing an idea in a model costs a fraction of what testing it in steel costs, and none of it is sunk. The concepts that fail, fail on a screen, in a week, for a few thousand dollars — instead of failing on a shop floor, in a year, for a great deal more.

Bad Ideas Killed Early And Cheaply

Killing a concept is not the process failing. It is the process working. Every idea that dies in simulation is a project that never got funded, never got built and never had to be quietly written off two years later by somebody else.

A Business Case Somebody Will Fund

A modelled, simulated concept gives a board or a lender something to look at rather than something to imagine. Capital approval stops depending on how persuasive you are in the room and starts depending on what the model demonstrably shows.

Iteration While It Is Still Free

Changing your mind in week two costs an afternoon. Changing your mind in month fourteen costs the programme. Concept work front-loads the changes into the phase where they are cheap, which is the entire reason it pays for itself.

A Low-Risk Way To Start

A concept engagement is small, bounded and has a clear deliverable at the end of it. It is the easiest way to find out whether we are the right people to work with, before either of us commits to anything substantially larger.

Test the expensive idea cheaply

Bring us the concept, however rough. Two weeks and a model will tell you more than six months of meetings.
