Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. It can be read back on later visits, which is how a site remembers things between pages — a preference you set, or a choice you made.

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies used on ngen2.com. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more generally.

2. Cookies we set

Strictly necessary — always active

We set one cookie that does not require your consent, because without it the site cannot honour the choice you made:

• ngen2_consent — records whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. It contains only the word “granted” or “denied”. It is set by us, not by a third party, and expires after six months, at which point we will ask you again.

Analytics — only with your consent

If you select “Accept”, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets two cookies:

• _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another. It holds a randomly generated number and nothing else: not your name, your email address, or anything you typed into the site. Expires after two years.
• _ga_F9JNR9Q7RX — remembers your current visit and when it started, so several page views count as one visit rather than several separate ones. The suffix is our Google Analytics property ID. Expires after two years.

We use this to understand which pages people find useful, roughly where visitors come from, and what kind of device they are on. It is aggregate reporting, not individual profiling.

Until you select “Accept”, Google Analytics is not loaded at all — no script is downloaded from Google, no cookies are set, and no data is sent. Declining does not affect how the website works.

3. What we do not do

This website does not use cookies for:

• advertising or remarketing
• building an advertising profile of you
• tracking you across other websites
• selling or sharing your data with data brokers

Google Analytics is configured with advertising features and Google signals turned off. The advertising-related consent signals are set to “denied” and are never granted.

4. Measurement that does not use cookies

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to monitor page performance and load times. Neither sets cookies, and neither collects information that identifies you, so they run regardless of your choice above.

5. Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time by selecting Cookie Settings in the footer of any page. Choosing “Decline” takes effect immediately: analytics stops, and the cookies Google set are expired.

You can also control cookies through your browser, which can refuse them entirely or warn you when one is being set. The Help section of most browsers explains how. Blocking the strictly necessary cookie means we will ask about your preferences on every page.

6. Google as a third party

Where you have consented, Google processes analytics data on our behalf. Google explains what it collects from sites that use its services in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
